  2. The Potato Famine and the Coming of the Irish to America

    Toledo author Terence O'Leary will present on the Potato Famine of 1845 and how it led over one million Irish people to flee to America in search of a better life, affecting the lives of the over thirty-four million Irish Americans alive today. Mr. O'Leary conducted four years of historical research to write his two novels, "Irish Crossings: Caitlin and Paddy's Story" and "Irish Crossings: Danny's Story." Copies of these novels will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.
