Filmmaker Craig Dudnick will be here to screen his documentary Alice's Ordinary People about activist Alice Tregay, an unsung heroine of the Civil Rights Movement.
Alice's story spans from Dr. King's marches to the election of President Obama, and her actions directly connect the two events. Under the leadership of Reverend Jackson, Alice and her "ordinary people" spent months picketing for change, but Alice's most significant contribution to the Civil Rights Movement was her Political Education class, during which she taught thousands of people to work in independent political campaigns, impacting the elections of Ralph Metcalf, Harold Washington, and Barack Obama.
The film runs approximately 60 minutes. There will be questions and discussion led by Craig Dudnick after the screening.
