Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement

Master flautist and jazz historian Galen Abdur-Razzaq will be presenting virtually on how jazz was used as an instrument of expression during the Civil Rights Movement. Listeners will gain both an understanding of how the music was used during that time period and an appreciation of jazz music in general, including its cultural background and historical significance in many eras.
This event will be held over Zoom. Space is limited, so registration is required. Registration will open September 17.
